This is a group led by the minister or stewards, that meets on the first Monday morning of the month unless it is a Bank Holiday, when it will be the second Monday. The group aim to discuss a passage in the Bible and its relevance to us in the modern world. This is usually held in “Polly’s Pantry”, a coffee shop in the village.
Recent discussions were based on
Romans Chapt, 14 v 1-12 Do Not Judge Others
Romans Chapt.12 v1-21 Life in God’s Service
Matthew Chapt.5 v1-12 The Beatitudes.
We now run a lunch club on the second and fourth Thursday of every month starting at 1.0p.m. It is for the benefit of those who live alone in the village and the surrounding area and allows people to make new friends while enjoying a two course meal followed by coffee.
A typical menu example is:-
Thursday 25 April 2013
Roast lamb with mint sauce
Pea and bean mix
Plum & almond plait with ice cream
Coffee & mints
The lunch club organiser and cook is Margaret Boyce and she can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone on 01590 641189. Booking is essential as this is a popular event and places are limited.
