On Thursday 11th December, the Lunch Club held its Christmas Lunch which was attended by 30 of its members. It was held in the Sanctuary which had been decorated for the occasion and there were crackers on the tables along with a card and a bar of chocolate which had been kindly provided by Peggy Allen. The main course was a full roast turkey dinner and this was followed by a trio of delicious desserts. In case anyone had any room left, there were mini mince pies to have with a cup of coffee.
After the meal, every Lunch Club member was given a mini Christmas cake and bags of sweets and biscuits to take away with them to enjoy during the festive period. The Reverend Barbara Jeffries then presented gifts to all the helpers who keep the Lunch Club going throughout the year and finally presented a bouquet of flowers to Margaret Boyce, the organiser and cook with grateful thanks for all of her efforts.
